Like a lot of writers, I have to find time to write between the demands of a day job. In what seems like another life there were a few unpublishable novels and a lot of good short fiction, some published in small magazines. For the last ten years or so I have focused on novels and screenplays. I am drawn to shades of gray characters who find themselves submerged in some moral dilemma. My screenplay Figments quarterfinaled in the Nicholls Fellowship and my horror screenplay Dead Children recently was a semi-finalist in Shriekfest. I have a Ph.D. in Political Science from UCLA that is of absolutely no use in my writing (which is a good thing). I live in Northern California with one wife, four kids, two dogs, two cats, but sadly, no chupacabras.
